If only it were true, but it has been reported that the closure of a US based web hosting firm that was believed to have had "spam gangs" as clients has led to a significant fall in global spam activity. As much as a 70% decrease.
However, because there are good profits to be made from sending spam messages it is widely believed that the spammers will simply move their equipment overseas, to countries who do not have the desire or know how to stop this activity.
Most organisations receive substantial quantities of spam, often totaling 90% of the total. Without industrial strength solutions in place spam can easily overwhelm most email servers, bandwidth and recipients. Spam messages are also largely responsible for the delivery of malicious code including viruses and Trojans.
If you'd like to know more about how to combat the spammers, please contact us today. Net-Ctrl have wide range of solutions that include "in the cloud" services such as SoftScan and installed solutions such as SecureMail, formerly IronMail from Secure Computing.
