This week has seen the release and the shipping of the new Zone Director 3000 from Ruckus Wireless.  This has allowed them to enter into the rival market space of other competition such as Aruba and Ciso.

The Zone Director 3000 appliance enables a user to manage a larger amount of access points dependant on their requirements.

At present the Zone Director 1000 only allows up to 50 access points maximum which is great for the SMB market place, however the introduction of the Zone Director 3000 will allow the larger enterprise market to handle from as little as 25 to a maximum of 250 access points (Zone Flex).

The simplistic license upgrade allows the solutions to grow with your organization preventing the costly hardware replacement issues that are experienced with a majority of other WLAN solutions that wish to expand as the business grows.

In addition Ruckus Wireless has made improvements to the Flexmaster software now running on version 7 which includes the long awaited Layer 3 roaming, this has allowed users of VOIP phone to roam seamlessly from one building to another without dropping a call by changing the IP address as they roam.

SpeedFlex is a performance monitoring feature which has been included in the latest release and can be available for new and existing clients

Ruckus Wireless with its innovative technology has been very successful in the education market and continues to grow rapidly, it is still standing by that fact that it will go twice as far for nearly half the cost of the competition.
