Availability of Sophos anti-virus and anti-spyware engine updates for Secure Firewall

SOV26 patches are now available for v7.0.1 (7.0.1.SOV26), v7.0.0 (7.0.0.SOV26) and v6.1.2 (6.1.2.SOV26).

Customers should install this patch to replace SOV25 by the end of February, 2009.

Last Order Date: Secure Web (Webwasher) Instant Messenger Filter

The last order date for Secure Web (Webwasher) Instant Messenger Filter is March 31, 2009. No new orders or renewals will be accepted after March 31, 2009. All requests for the IM Filter module during Q1 should be directed to Secure Web Product Management to review current customer need and upcoming IM support.

The End of Life date for Secure Web IM Filter is December 31, 2009. No engineering support (i.e. bug fixes, feature enhancements, etc.) or technical support will be available after this date.

Instant messaging control and filtering capabilities will be included in the Secure Web 7.0 release — due out later this year. Secure Web 7.0 will support multiple IM clients and enable all of the Secure Web protections such as malware scanning and document inspection to be applied to IM traffic. The IM capabilities available in Secure Web 7.0 will be included for no additional cost to customers on support.
